It depends on the template. Some documents require a Swedish personal identity number in the builder or for a later registration, while others do not. Do not assume that a coordination number or passport number is accepted as a substitute: the document page states the applicable requirement before you start.

BankID signing is not currently offered as a live service: the integration runs only in BankID's test environment. Standard account-based e-signing is available for documents that permit it. Documents with statutory formalities must be signed in the method specified for that document.

An account is required to create, save or start signing a document. A person invited to sign can follow the personal link and its verification steps without an existing account, then create one afterwards to keep the signed document. You may browse the public explanations before signing in.

You can browse the guidance from abroad and many account-based steps can be completed remotely. Whether you can finish a specific document depends on its identity fields, signing formalities and any requirements imposed by an authority or recipient.

No. Avtalsfrid's finished template is in Swedish and is intended to be the governing document. An agreement is not invalid merely because it is written in English, but Swedish authorities, banks or other recipients may require Swedish. If parties use parallel language versions, they should state which version governs if the texts differ.

Not yet. The questions in the builder are in Swedish. We are honest about this rather than hiding it behind a language toggle that only changes the buttons. If you would rather not fill in a Swedish form at all, one of our lawyers can draft the document for you after a conversation in English, at a fixed price shown on each document page.

We can walk you through your specific finished document in English so you understand every clause in it. For a document that has to be presented to a foreign authority, what you usually need is an authorised translation (auktoriserad translator), which is a separate service — ask us and we will point you in the right direction.

Yes. Every document has a fixed-price option where one of our lawyers writes or reviews it for you. For anything genuinely complicated — cross-border estates, a real business sale, a contested custody arrangement — that is the option worth taking.

Electronic signatures cannot be denied legal effect solely because they are electronic, and many Swedish agreements are form-free. That does not make every e-signed document binding: the parties' agreement, authority and the document's statutory or recipient-specific formalities still matter. Yes. What decides which law applies is your connection to Sweden — where you live, where the property is, where the company is registered — not your citizenship.

It depends on the document. A contract about a Swedish property or a Swedish company keeps working. Inheritance is the one to watch: under EU Regulation 650/2012 the default is the law of the country where you were habitually resident when you died, so moving can change which country's rules govern your estate. If you have a will, that is a reason to have it looked at again after a move.

Usually yes, but how depends on the type. A will can be replaced at any time. A prenuptial agreement can be revoked or replaced, with a new registration. A contract with another party normally needs that party's agreement to change. Your documents stay in your account, so you can start from what you already have.
