What a power of attorney for an estate does
Lets one person act for all the heirs of an estate: dealing with the bank, cancelling subscriptions, emptying a home, handling the sale. Without it, every heir has to sign every single errand.
In Sweden this document is called Fullmakt för dödsbo. It is worth learning the Swedish term: it is what a bank, a housing association, an employer or an authority will ask you for, and searching for the English name alone will often turn up rules from another country that do not apply here.
